Fort Myers Beach Fishing Report
Our FMB fishing teams cover Estero Bay and the coastal areas of the Gulf of Mexico.
We have four fishing teams on the water at least once a week. Check our postings for current fishing activity and some nice pictures as we get them in.
With the cold weather hitting South Florida the rules have changed regarding the Snook fishing as there was a large winter kill.
Emergency Snook Regulations: Season currently Closed until Sept 1st.
Emergency Tarpon and Bonefish are closed until March 31st.

Fishing in the Back Bay has been very productive for Speckled Sea Trout in February. Here is a short report on the February fishing for 2010.
Feb. 3rd - Sheepshead (2) 17" on shrimp in backwaters a few smaller Mangrove Snappers.
Feb. 5th - 40 Grunts and Porgies. 4 Large Grouper. Snappers and Smaller Groupers. Offshore about 30 miles off FMB.
Feb. 6th - Windy Day on the Bay. 2 Snook. 34" and 24" Catch and Release. Season Closed till Sept.1, 2010.
Feb. 18th - Onshore wind into the Bay, Incoming Tide, Water Temp 59 degrees. 7 Large Speckled Trout and a few smaller sized trout. A handful of ladyfish in between. This was an afternoon outing.
We had a cold January and we had these results in the Estero Bay area of Fport Myers Beach.
Jan. 16th - Water 55-58 degrees. Colder near the Gulf and warmer near the back back bay.
Tide Low and incoming. (5) Specks caught on a slow jig presentation.
Jan. 15th - Cold water. Low Tide. Slow jiging for Trout (2) Specks
Jan. 9th - Rain all day, cold and we caught (8)trout on the incoming tide hell peckney and (4)sheep head and a few snapper using 1/o hook with a split shot right at the hook, 20 lb leader dragging it and popping it off the bottom very slow pretention. Fish to be caught even on the worst of days.
Jan. 8th - Cold Front moving in late afternoon. Started on an incoming tide.
Water temp was now at 55 degrees. Water temp was at 64 degrees. Winds were at 10 mph temp at 69. Limit on Speckled Trout at 8. Caught over 15. 1 Redfish.
